Sketchbooks are where the magic happens. Digital or analogue, ipad or moleskine the sketchbook is ground zero for creatives’… creations! The 2nd early announcement for day 4 of the final week of submissions (and there is still room folks) is someone I would call a sketchbook guru. By simply drawing and sharing his sketchbook practices, intensively, Brad Ovenell-Carter has been making his thinking visible and sharing his creative process online from inspiration to resolution.
On social media and in a variety of drawing formats, @Braddos practice insists… “If there’s one thing he’s learned in all this, it’s that the essence of technology has nothing at all to do with anything technological“. Drawing technology is one aspect we intend to explore at the Sketching in Practice Symposium, and it gives us great confidence to have Brad as one of our guides. In his session titled, “Your Brain on Paper” he will…
look at the history of externalizing our brains and make the case for developing a sketchnoting practice in K12 education as a way of making thinking visible
To be honest I wish I had had a sketchnoting practice when I was in K-12 it would have saved me alot of struggle in art school! >8)
Check out Brad on Instagram or, of course at SKiP on June 24!
